Privacy Policy for Linked Camera

Introduction
Linked Camera (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our camera application.
Camera and Photos
- The app accesses your device’s camera to take photos and videos
- Photos and videos are stored locally on your device
- We do not collect, access, or store your photos on our servers
Location Data (Optional)
- If you enable geotagging, the app records GPS coordinates in photo metadata (EXIF)
- Location data is embedded in photos and stored locally on your device
- Location permission can be disabled at any time in your device settings
- We do not transmit location data to any external servers
Nextcloud Upload Feature (Optional)
- If you configure Nextcloud sync, photos are uploaded to your own Nextcloud server
- The app stores your Nextcloud share URL locally on your device
- We do not have access to your Nextcloud credentials or uploaded photos
- All uploads go directly from your device to your Nextcloud server
- We do not operate any intermediary servers
Bluetooth (Optional)
- The app can connect to Bluetooth LE remote control devices
- Bluetooth permissions are only used for remote shutter functionality
- No data is transmitted via Bluetooth connections
- We do not collect personal information
- We do not collect analytics or usage data
- We do not use tracking technologies
- We do not display advertisements
- We do not share any data with third parties
- We do not have access to your photos or videos
Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device:
- Photos and videos in your device storage
- App settings in local preferences
- Upload queue information in local storage
When you uninstall the app, all app settings are removed. Photos you have taken remain on your device.
Data Deletion
You have full control over deleting your data:
- Photos and videos: Delete directly from your device’s gallery or file manager
- Photos uploaded to Nextcloud: Delete via your Nextcloud web interface or app
- App settings and preferences: Uninstall the app, or clear app data via Android Settings > Apps > Linked Camera > Clear Data
- Location data: Embedded in photo EXIF data; removed when you delete the photo
Since we do not store any data on our servers, there is no need to contact us for data deletion. All your data remains under your control on your own device and your own Nextcloud server.
Third-Party Services
Nextcloud Integration
The optional Nextcloud upload feature connects directly to a server you configure. We recommend:
- Using HTTPS for secure connections
- Using password-protected shares when possible
- Only connecting to servers you trust
We are not affiliated with Nextcloud GmbH and do not have access to your Nextcloud account.
Data Security
- The app does not transmit data to our servers
- Nextcloud uploads use HTTPS encryption
- Sensitive credentials are stored in Android’s secure preferences
- No debug logging of sensitive information in release builds
Children’s Privacy
Our app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages as it does not collect any personal information.
Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- Disable location permissions to prevent geotagging
- Disable Nextcloud sync at any time
- Delete photos from your device at any time
- Uninstall the app to remove all settings
